• The circular economy. Does the packaging stand up to scrutiny against the key elements of circularity? Changing behaviour. Does the packaging have a positive impact on consumer behaviours in some way in the context of sustainability?
• How sustainable was the product it packaged. Is there a good sustainable story around packaging and the product?
• Demonstrate that the packaging was needed in the first place. Could the product have been protected, and promoted in any other way, that rendered packaging redundant?

In addition, judges will be requiring technical data sheets (in a PDF format) on the following:

- Full breakdown on materials and weights/thickness of each component;
- (If applicable) Sealing strengths, grease barriers, water vapour permeability, Oxygen permeability, Light resistance, Mineral oil resistance, puncture resistance all against test methods;
- Claims of certification (for example FSC, PEFC, home/industrial compostable), all regulatory claims and storage conditions.

For reusable/refillable entries, all packaging projects entered must be reused for the purpose it was originally designed for. Entries that simply repurpose the pack for another use will not be considered.
